We also went to Leavenworth for the day. I forgot my camera so I have no pictures of that, but it was a blast! Such a good day.

Halloween Care Packet
Today my family came up to visit--including my grandma. With them they brought me a Halloween care packet. It was so sweet!

My mom always does the coolest things for holidays!

CWU Homecoming
I waited to blog about this until the pictures came back but on the 14th the school had a Homecoming dance. Kylee and I got all dressed up and then proceeded to stand outside Tori's dorm and yell at her until she came down. I know, so mean.
As part of out five-dollar entree fee we got free pictures...why couldn't the high school be that generous? Because Tori wasn't dressed up they gave her a tie to wear...

And then she took the tie off and we took another picture...

While we were hanging out and having fun, someone asked Tori to dance a slow song with him. It was very cute to watch. Something else that happened is some random guy came up behind Kylee and started grinding with her...that one was a little weird for me.
We ended up staying for the whole dance even though we weren't planning on it, and we all had a blast!

I got my grammar test back!
On Monday I had my first exam in Grammar. The only thing my teacher told the class was that we had to answer 18 of 23 questions and that we had to find prepositional phrases. Other than that we were completely on our own. No study sheet, no sample questions. A week before the test I started making note cards to study. I had no idea what to expect and so I wrote down anything that might be used.

So after many stressful study sessions and frustrating nights the day for the test came. My teacher said he was going to be in the room 20 minutes early in case we felt like we wanted more time. Because I didn't know what to expect I went early in case I needed the time. It turned out I didn't but at least I had time for a little homework before my text class.
Anyways, today we got our tests back. My teacher was less than happy because way less than half the class even passed. There were 4 A's, 5 B's, and everyone else got a D or lower. I thought I had done well, but I was still nervous to get my test back. However, when my test landed on my test it read:

Even though I didn't get an A, I am still very proud and happy because I was one of the few people in the class to even pass the test. So considering everything, I think I did pretty good.

Alex's Boxers Finally Came!
So as I mentioned for our anniversary I bought Alex and I both matching underwear. They finally got here last night so I picked them up after my classes today.
Alex and I always do hand hearts to each other so naturally I added that to our underwear.

On the back of both of ours I put:

I think the boxers are going to be too big for Alex, so i guess he now has a new pair of PJ's. Either way they are here and they look great!

My Battle Scars
This quarter I joined the intramural volleyball league. My team is co-ed and it is extremely fun. However the team we played last night was way beyond this league that my team had to step up our game. Unfortunately that meant diving. Well because I used to play volleyball the diving was no problem for me, but for my knees it's another story.
Diving + no knee pads =

These pictures don't do justice to what it actually looks like. My camera isn't picking up all the bruising, just the worst of it.
Also, the other team had awesome serves which meant bruising on the arms as well. Though this isn't near as bad as my knee, it still hurts.

Once again the camera isn't catching all the bruising, but you still the basic idea.

My Own Little Touch of Home
As everyone who will read this knows, my mom is known to decorate the house for every holiday. And though yes, that was supposed to get a chuckle from you, this isn't to bash my mother at all. Quite the opposite however. I learned from growing up that decorating for holidays was just something you did. So naturally because I'm not home for Halloween, I tried to bring what little festivities I could to my new home. Though I can't do a lot because I have a roommate, I did what I could get away with.

I would have loved to get more decorations into my room, but this is what I could get away with. Even though it isn't near as much as I know my real home has, at least this makes me feel somewhat like I'm there.

A couple things i forgot...
I forgot to mention a couple things about Alex's and mine date to Harvestfest. The first is I recorded the turkeys and the sounds they were making and I forgot to post it. I think it is pretty funny.
Second, Alex won a free pumpkin. They were doing this thing where you guessed how much the pumpkin weighted and if you got it right you got the pumpkin. Alex and this little girl tied and so they had to guess the weight of a second pumpkin and whoever was closer to that one won. Alex lost the second pumpkin guessing (but part of me thinks he did it on purpose so the girl could win). However, he did get to keep the second pumpkin....which was super ugly and kind of moldy. Still cool though.

Anniversary Number Two
This weekend Alex came up to visit me for our second year anniversary. Our first date was to a corn maze and so every year we go to a corn maze to re-live that date. This year however, we couldn't go to the corn maze we've gone to the last two years because I'm up at Central. So we used to Google and found one in Ellensburg to explore, called Harvestfest.
Our day was filled with much more than just a corn maze. We happened to go on family day and so the farm was filled with little kids, and little kids activities. This also meant all adults got in for free and so had an almost free date.
One of the activities they offered was face painting. I know I'm 18, but there is nothing better than acting like a kid.

There were scarecrows all over the farm. We had fun taking pictures of them because they were all creative.

One of the things that also happened every half hour was a potato-sack race. It was so fun watching the little kids having a ball and just being kids.

There were also signs all over the place and some of them where funny.

Finally we got to the corn maze. Compared to the corn maze in Kent this one was kind of whimpy. The corn stocks were short and the path was tiny, but it was still nice to be able to go on out date.

There was also a petting zoo! They had some two turkeys, a goat, and two baby chickens.

The baby chicken started crawling into Alex's shirt. It was super funny.

There were a couple picture boards in the park as well, and so naturally we did those as well...

We stopped by the gift shop to buy our pumpkins and I found this cute little plastic pumpkin. It reminds me of something out of Nightmare Before Christmas.

The presents:
This year Alex gave me the sweetest presents in the world. He bought me the first season of Modern Family and the spider nano bug. However, he also made me a comic book about the first time we met, our first date, how he asked me out, and about the first time we kissed. It was the best gift ever because the whole thing was done by hand.

My gift to Alex wasn't as grand. I got him a Zen Garden from the thrift store. But I also ordered him a pair of boxers. The back of them says, "Property of Jessi Cheney" and the front has our hand heart. I also ordered myself a pair of underwear that says "Property of Alex Sheets" with the hand heart of the front. Sadly, they didn't get here in time. However when they do I will post a picture of them.
