Uncle Sam

So my latest art project was to take a person, real or not, that everybody knows and create that create them by only using objects that relate to that person/idea. So i created Uncle Sam. Alex came over to help and we had a ton of fun putting him together.

A yogurt lid was the hat just covered with paper. And everyone knows baseball is the American past time, so we made that his head. Cotton from my mom's salon made perfect hair, beard, and eyebrows. For the mouth we just used red string and two dimes for the eyes and

For the legs we used penny rolls. They actually fit perfect because the penny rolls we have are pinstriped with red so it was an amazing fit. For the feet Alex brought over some toy tanks he used to play with and we hot glued them to death until Uncle Sam could stand on his own.

Our last touch was the "Made In China" sticker. Because everything in America is made in China so it was funny. It made everyone in my class laugh.

The torso was a really skinny coca-cola can. Alex made a mini bow tie, and the jacket. He also brought over the bullet shells...ops, cartridges (he is always correcting me)... and used those for the arms. I think he turned out amazing and I'm really proud of him. I for sure think he's a keeper!!! He has earned him spot on the bookcase.

Double Date

So my new goal is to start blogging more. I think it's a good idea and I'm going to try and make time for it.

So the other weekend Alex and I went on a double date with Jeff and Tori. We went to Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium. Afterward we went out to lunch and...surprise...got gas pop!

So when we first went into the zoo Alex saw a peacock and started acting like a little kid. He ran towards it and was all like "i wanna touch it!". It was so cute and very funny.

After Alex was done chasing the peacock, we followed it for a little while and i think it got territorial, because it brought all of it's feathers up. It made for a really cool picture though.

The animal is behind us in the top left corner. We just set the camera on a trash can to take the picture.

So these little fix animals were so adorable. I really wanted wanted to bring one home.

We had fun watching the oters too. They were really cute cause they were all cleaning themselves and they were washing there faces and they were all bunched up. Super cute!

My mom wanted a picture of Jeff and Tori so this is the first one i took.

Alex was giving me a piggy back ride for some of it. I felt really tall.

So these animals were all climbing over each other and running around everywhere. It was super cute.

I'm Gary the Snail!!!

It's the spiderweb picture!!!!!!!

This is the restaurant we ate it. It was actually kind of funny because we walked in the bar door at fist and we we thought it was just a bar but then we figured it out. The food was actually pretty good.

It was a really fun day and hopefully we'll be able to go out and have another fun day again sometime soon!!
